Customs and Manners in Foreign Countries

Customs and Manners in Foreign Countries-Sari Store

Whether you like it or not, you are a representative of the United States once you travel to a foreign country. Many have to come to associate such questions as: "Don't you have an American cup of coffee?" or "You don't speak English?" or "That's not how we do things at home." as typical American behavior overseas.

Sari Store

Nonetheless, there are several things you just can't do when you travel as they are regarded in bad taste: taking photographs of people without asking their permission, acting critical or amused by customs that are alien to you, getting too familiar, too fast (for example, slapping someone on the back, even if the gesture is well intentioned).

To be regarded as a good ambassador (and save yourself from embarrassment), it's advisable to read a few books or research online about the culture and customs of the country you plan to visit.

Clothing: Wearing shorts in public is generally not acceptable in most parts of the world, including some European countries. In Arab countries, low necklines, sleeveless shirts, and short skirts are definitely a bad idea. When in doubt, dress conservatively. Also, while it is tempting to dress in the local style, like wearing a sari in India, be sensitive to the culture - sometimes the local citizenry will appreciate your attempt to fit in; sometimes it will be considered an insult.

Greetings/touching: Handshakes are an almost universally accepted form of greeting, although in some countries, like Japan, a traditional bow from the waist down is preferred. Be careful how you address someone; don't use first names unless you are invited to do so. In some countries, you'll see a lot of hugging and kissing going on among the locals (Greece, Italy, Latin countries, Slavic countries); an affectionate hug or peck on the cheek that you share with a new acquaintance is fine, but usually if you are responding to, not initiating it.

Language/Gestures: Taking a crash course in the language of the country you will be visiting rarely results in the mastery of the language. Instead, learn some polite expressions (hello-goodbye-thank you) and relax. English is pretty common worldwide, especially in tourist areas, and you can always include body language to get your message across. However, some American gestures have totally different meanings in other countries. For example, in Bulgaria, shaking your head horizontally means "yes"; shaking it vertically means "no". Also using the American gesture for "OK" (the thumb and forefinger making a circle with the other fingers pointing up) can be embarrassing. In Brazil that gesture means "screw you": in Japan it means "money": in Southern France it means "zero" or "worthless".

Food/Drink: You may find yourself staring down at a local delicacy - snake soup in China, a yak burger in Tibet, sheep's eyes in Saudi Arabia, calves' brains in France - and wonder what to do, particularly if you are a guest in someone's home. Be brave, take small bites, and pretend it tastes like something you like. When presented with a strong alcoholic drink, like ouzo in Greece, take small sips and stop when you must (you can refuse, citing medical reasons as your excuse). Remember that Hindus and some Buddhists don't eat beef (the cow is sacred); Muslims don't eat pork, and strict Muslims abstain from alcohol. If you are eating with Muslims, never touch food with your left hand (the left hand is for bathroom use and is considered unsanitary; using it would be very offensive).

Socializing/conversations: If you are acquainted with the history and culture of the country, you shouldn't get unnerved. In general, some topics can be touchy or controversial, like money, religion, politics, and sex. But the particular nature of the people is critical. The Japanese do not want to talk about World War II; the French scowl at the classic American question: "What do you do for a living?"; the Chinese call their country "China" or the "People's Republic of China" - not "the Mainland"; people in Scotland are "Scots" or "Scotsmen," not "Scotch" (the drink) or "Scottish" (the language or the terrier).

The House of Chanel

The House of Chanel-Sari Store

Another popular fashion house would be the house of Chanel which is more commonly known as simply Chanel. It was founded in Paris, France by Coco Chanel. According to the report written by Forbes, Gerard Wertheimer and Alain Wertheimer now privately hold House of Chanel as joint owners. They are the grandchildren of Pierre Wertheimer, the early Chanel partner.

Sari Store

Chanel revolutionized haute couture fashion through replacing the traditional and conventional corseted silhouette with comfortable and simple suits along with long and lean dresses. It introduced its signature cardigan jacket back in 1925.

Chanel had many other major successes which have radically changed the fashion industry. This includes the popular "Chanel suit", which was made up of a knee-length skirt along with a trim and boxy jacket that were traditionally made using woven wool and black sewing trim with gold buttons. It was also worn traditionally with large costume-pearl necklaces. Wealthy women from all over the world would flock to her boutique on 31 Rue Cambon just so they would be able to commission couture outfits. The House of Chanel later on became synonymous with wealth, elegance and elitism. It was also considered to be the ultimate sign of the French high class.

When Coco Chanel's perfume, No. 5, achieved phenomenal success, her fashions became even more popular and began to be purchased by London's and Paris' society's high flyers.

Chanel is also famous for its quilted fabric that had a "secret" quilting pattern which was sewn at the back so that the material would be kept strong. This was actually inspired by jackets of jockeys. The material has been used for clothing as well as for accessories. The Chanel brand is now being headed by Karl Lagerfeld, a German-born designer. He also designs for the Fendi house, as well as for his namesake label.

Tips On How To Get Gum Out Of Carpet

Tips On How To Get Gum Out Of Carpet-Sari Store

Anyone who has children old enough to chew gum has had to find out the hard way how that it sticks to hair, carpets, clothing, the inside of your dryer or some other place that you wouldn't want gum. If you find yourself with gum stuck in your carpet there are several ways to remove this mess without ruining your carpet.

Sari Store

One popular way is by using a bag of ice to freeze the gum and then peel it neatly out of the carpet. This can be done by placing the ice on the gum for fifteen minutes or so to freeze it solid then the gum should peel away from the fibers. This might be a good method to start with since you're not introducing any new liquids or products to the carpet to clean the gum from it.

A faster way to freeze the gum and remove it from your carpet is by using a can of air meant to clean your electronics. These cans are meant to be used right side up, but if you shake them or turn them upside down you will find they become cold. Turning the can upside down while spraying the gum will spray a shot of liquid onto the gum that freezes it instantly. Once the gum is frozen you can whack it with whatever is close by (hammer, umbrella handle, broom or whatever) so that it shatters into pieces and then you can vacuum it up or pick up the pieces.

Goo-Gone is a product you can purchase to remove gum and other sticky substances from your carpet and other furnishings. This is an oily product that cuts through the gum in no time. The stickiness is completely removed with a little rubbing.

If you don't have any of these products and ice isn't working for you, there is always peanut butter or shortening. These work on hair and on carpets. Putting a little oil in the gum and rubbing it in will help to break up the elasticity in the gum and it removes it. If you use this method you have to clean the area well immediately after getting the gum out of the carpet. Baby oil, vegetable oil, butter and any other oily substance works just as well. On the downside, this can also stain the carpet with the oils involved, so be very careful and make sure to test this in an inconspicuous area before you begin. Trading gum for an oil stain isn't very helpful.

Some people have good results with steam. Using a high pressure steam cleaner can remove the gum and any stain that it might leave. If you are using a rented steam cleaner you may have to go over the area many times and in the end bend down and use your fingers to pick up the gum once it is loosened.

Scrubbing with multipurpose cleaners or a spray foam carpet cleaner can also work. Be careful when scrubbing, you don't want to damage the carpet's fibers when you are removing the gum.

Before trying any of these methods, make sure that the products you have chosen to use won't damage the carpet. Test them on an inconspicuous area to find out if they will stain or damage the carpet fibre before going straight for the gum. Every carpet is different and will react differently to certain products. Take your time and be patient when trying to get the gum out, rushing will only make the mess bigger.

Indian Silk Industry

Indian Silk Industry-Saree Sari Store

Silk - the queen of all fabrics is historically one of India's most important industries. India produces a variety of silks called Mulberry, Tasar, Muga and Eri, based on the feeding habit of the cocoons.

Saree Sari Store

The sericulture industry today employs over 700,000 farm families and is mostly concentrated in Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh and to some extent Assam and West Bengal. Karnataka accounts for more than 70 percent of the country's total silk production.

Sericulture is one industry which is beneficial to the agriculturists. As in today 56 lakhs people are dependent on the sericulture industry, 5.6 million people out of which 4.7 million are agriculturists. The rest are reelers, weavers etc.

India is the second largest producer of silk, contributing to about 18 per cent to the world production. What is however, more noteworthy is the fact that India's requirement of raw silk is much higher than its current production at present. Thus, there is considerable scope for stepping up production of raw silk in the country, overcome the persistent conflict of interest between exporters of silk products and producers of raw silk.

While sericulturists want imports of raw silk to be restricted to have better market for their produce, exporters want imports of cheaper raw silk so as to be able to export more silk products at competitive rates. India has all the four varieties of silk namely, mulberry, tassar, eri and muga. It is however, disheartening to note that we have not yet been able to fully exploit this advantage and make our presence felt on the international scene more prominently than at present. For this, one has to clearly understand the strengths and weaknesses of different segments of this sector.

The strength of this industry lies in its wide base, the sustaining market demand pull especially from the Indian handloom weaving sector, the infrastructure created by the national sericulture project and the research and training capabilities.

Mulberry segment

Its main weakness is related to a poor database, diverse range of practices leading to a divergence in productivity and quality. Generally, there is weak accent on quality consistency in production, poor transfer of technology to the decentralised sector both due to poor technology absorption and poor/inadequate follow up on laboratory findings; poor market linkages barring in Karnataka, a thriving unfair trade in the post-yarn sector, low-end technology use and reluctance to costlier technologies due to fears that there might not be corresponding improvement in price realisations. Other weaknesses are inadequate emphasis on quality in the commercial seed sector, neglect of marketing linkages and the need for a basic perspective for development of the sector which clearly defined relative roles for the central and state agencies under the federal set-up.

Among non-mulberry silks, tassar is mostly produced by tribals by rearing silkworms on forest plants. India is the largest producer of tassar silk after China and is the only producer of golden muga silk. Also, India is a major producer of eri silk.

Unlike mulberry silk production, non-mulberry silk production is unsteady and fluctuates from year to year. The central silk board has not given enough attention to their R&D and extension activities in the area of non-mulberry sericulture in spite of its potential to directly help the poor. Presently, muga and eri silks are produced mostly for self-consumption. But with their uniqueness to India, they have great potential for value-added exports.

The government must give to these varieties of silk the importance that is due to them and facilitate focussed R&D, targeted extension and innovative product development for value-added exports.

Tassar

It has been noted that the following are the areas of weaknesses in production of tassar and they require to be set right

. Rearing is done outdoor on trees; natural food plants are dispersed over large areas. Thus, comprehensive extension support would entail a large number of extension agents to cater to the farmers beyond their resources.

. Also weavers are normally reelers and are not exploited by traders.

. Oak tassar culture has not yet been properly adopted, as people are new to this culture and economics are yet to be established.

. Also lack of disease monitoring and of control measures is noticed.

Eri

Eri silk which is largely produced in some eastern parts of the country has specific thermal proprieties. It can also be blended with wool, other silks, cotton ramie, jute or synthetic fibres. Areas of weakness in eri silk include:-

. Lack of systematic supply of adequate quantity of foilage.

. Lack of scientific method to check diseases

. Poor management during rearing

. Non-availability of separate rearing house and

. Absence of any well-organised marketing system

Muga

This golden yellow silk is quite unique to Assam and neighbouring areas of Nagaland and Meghalaya. It has spread to West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh as well. While basic seed production is more or less organised, commercial seed production is to be organised systematically. More research support is needed for this activity.

Cut throat competition from China

Sericulture in India has taken a severe beating with cheap silk coming from China and flooding the Indian markets.

India imported around 9,258 tonnes of silk worth over six billion rupees last year from China, the world's largest silk producer.

Nearly 49,000 hectares of mulberry crop was uprooted in Karnataka as cocoon prices crashed resulting in a loss of 3,000 tonnes to the country's overall silk production, according to statistics released by the Central Silk Board.

Dumping of silk yarn from China has affected the production of silk because the rate of cocoons in the market has come down because the demand has been reduced due to import of China silk. So farmers who were expecting a better income for their cocoons stopped because market was fluctuating. When the imported silk came in, dealers lost their interest in buying the cocoons and farmers did not get the better rates. This has resulted in 49,000 hectares of mulberries being uprooted in Karnataka. In turn the farmers have taken up other activities, other agricultural productions rather than continuing with mulberry.

According to the farmers, their crops also suffered from the third consecutive drought last year. Farmers are demanding that the government should impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese silk.

India stands second only to China in silk production. While China produced 69,000 metric tons of raw silk last year, India stood far behind with 16,000 metric tons.

Officials say India requires 120,000 metric tons of silk to meet the demand in world market and with better infrastructure facility; the sericulture industry could improve its productivity to 15 percent as against the current nine percent.

Conclusion

The bulk of Indian silk thread and silk cloth is consumed domestically. The present market context for silk in the country is one of vigorously growing internal demand for silk fabrics, with growth rates of above 10 percent per year.

With substantial government and international subsidies for silk projects and marketing schemes, the industry has been expanding rapidly over the last few years. Silk exports too are growing rapidly. Germany is the largest consumer of Indian silk.

Today only China and India are the producers in silk. Thailand, Uzbekistan also produces silk but the quantity is very small. So we will have to keep this raw silk and fabrics for them to continue in the market. Only two countries can do it. India is the largest consumer of silk fabrics by way of sarees and so many other things. So we will have to improve our silk culture.

Today the Indian silk industry is already a major player in the global scenario and the growth prospects for the industry seem to be bullish. Measures like the encouragement of further technological and economic research in the various aspects of sericulture, standardization and quality control of silk and silk products and rationalization of marketing and stabilization of prices of silk cocoons and raw silk it could expand rapidly than ever before.

Buying Tanzanite and Gemstones in Nairobi, Kenya

Buying Tanzanite and Gemstones in Nairobi, Kenya

Being a gemstone centre in East Africa, Nairobi has numerous jewelery and gem stores selling varied gemstones but dealing in Tanzanite in particular. This record explores the numerous pitfalls of buying Tanzanite in Nairobi and offers guidance on what to look for.

Fraudulent Practices are prevalent in the Nairobi market

An record in the Nation Newspaper recently highlighted the unregulated nature of the gemstone and jewelry business in Nairobi and East Africa in general. Fraudulent practices are thorough with many players selling inferior goods to unwitting buyers pertaining to be the finest qualities. With no Trade Descriptions Act in Kenya, shopping for Tanzanite, Tsavorite and gemstone jewelry is very much a case of caveat emptor (buyer beware). To avoid being a victim, take into consideration the following points:

What to look for :

Sales talk versus fact: First of all, it is foremost to have some idea of what you should expect from reputable sellers of gemstones. There are so many "merchants" in Nairobi whose sole purpose is to peddle gemstones for outrageous prices whilst purporting to be experts or even "owners of the mines". The majority of such claims are totally unfounded and downright false. Mining in East Africa is done very informally by artisanal miners in some very remote areas. The channel of distribution ordinarily follows the usual trend of the miners selling to established cutters and dealers who export to foreign markets or sell to local jewelery stores. Jewelery stores buy from a variety of sources together with such dealers, the most base being brokers. If a jewelery store purports to own the mine and by implication, the supply, do not be taken in by this - it is pure hype and a complete misrepresentation. A reputable seeder will be highly knowledgeable about the gemology of the gems they sell and be able to sass your questions coherently and in depth. They should carry some gemological qualifications to originate themselves as knowledgeable in the field rather than being purely merchants.

Gemology is an intricate field and there are a great deal of synthetics, imitations and false gemstones out there to risk buying from a seeder who is not a gemologist. The days of being able to peddle stones with tiny knowledge of them and expect not to get caught out with a artificial or imitation are long gone. Tanzanite for example, can be coated to improve its colour. It has a artificial counterpart called Tanzanique which looks exactly like it. How can you be sure you are buying a genuine gemstone when the seeder themselves have no gemological knowledge or testing facilities?

The Gemstones themselves: My other Ezine article, "Tanzanite Purchasing Tips" goes much more in depth into what to look for in Tanzanite in Tsavorite to differentiate in the middle of fine stones and lower grades so I won't go into too much information here as it is beyond the scope of this article. However, in general, a layman can differentiate in the middle of fine stones and low grade ones naturally by using base sense - the more vivid and deeply saturated the color, the finer the stone. The more flawless the clarity the finer the stone and often overlooked - the finer the cut, the more great the stone, the finer the quality. Most of the stores I surveyed were selling medium to low grade goods as top grade. This is totally unscrupulous. I would propose reading my record on Tanzanite purchasing tips on Ezine to get a good overview of what to look for. Also look at the bottom of this record for a link to my site where we list any very beneficial educational tools showing you what to look for in a fine Tanzanite. It is very easy to pay way over the odds for a mediocre Tanzanite in Nairobi whilst being led to believe that you are buying the finest quality.

Aaa, Aa, 4A, 5A: If you have been shopping in any of Nairobi's jewelery stores you will have come over these terms. I was dumbstruck by how many stores fed misinformation using these "grades". The first thing to understand is that none of these terms are actual gemological grades. Aa and Aaa were terms used by miners in early mining days to denote the 2 top grades of Tanzanite - triple A is an highly deeply saturated color and is less than 1% of all Tanzanite, duplicate A is a shade lighter. I was angered to find many stores in Nairobi misrepresenting very mediocre material as triple A, but even more angered to hear such sales talk as "but we also have 4A and 5A - very extra and only from our mines, nowhere else" at which point they produce some duplicate A stones at ridiculous prices. 4A and 5A are just made up hype - they have never been used by the business and are naturally terms coined by merchants to hype their stock.
You should look for sellers who issue permissible gemological certificates carrying a permissible scientific grade such as the Gia (Gemological originate of America) grading system. It is all very well bandying around terms like Aaa but these are naturally subjective terms and they should be backed up with permissible grading using a recognized grading system.

The store itself: Don't be fooled by location - many of the stores I surveyed are settled in upscale malls where they use their excellent sell location to peddle high volumes of mediocre goods to unsuspecting buyers. This, by itself is fine but when they record the goods as the finest qualities when they are not, and payment outrageous price, then it naturally becomes a form of fraud. I object enormously to this and by extension, the prestige it gives our industry. When you enter the store, look for an environment that appears pro - is the store an postponement of a curio store with a merchant peddling a large array of curios with gems thrown in? Do the staff know gemstones, are there any gemologists to sass your questions? Obviously you want to look for a store that offers these things and don't be persuaded to drop thousands of dollars on an impulse - do some study first.

Prices: The most outrageous factor gleaned from my witness was prices, especially for Tanzanite. Some stores were selling medium grade stones (which they represented as "4A" or "5A") for over 00 per carat. This is outrageous for the local shop (in the Us shop this would be more normal). At the time of writing, even the very finest investment grade pieces (and I found zero stores indubitably selling this grade despite their sales banter promising the earth) shouldn't be more than 0 per carat. This is for excellent cutting, flawless clarity and the very finest colour found in the top 1% of Tanzanites. Don't be fooled into spending crazy money. Do some study first.

All in all, the witness revealed a very high level of fraud and fraudulent practices surrounded by sellers of Tanzanite and gemstones in the Nairobi area. With no governmental body in place to regulate it, it indubitably is a case of caveat emptor (buyer beware) when you are shopping for Tanzanite. Do your research, go to any stores and do comparisons and look for pro and knowledgeable gemologists who are able to sass your questions fully before buying.

Using Color science of mind to Sell Your Home

Using Color science of mind to Sell Your Home

When painting your home for resale, selecting the right colors can make a huge divergence in your paycheck at closing. For instance, did you know that the surface color of houses selling most swiftly is a safe bet shade of yellow, but that selecting the wrong shade of yellow can kill a sale?

You'll find many brochures in paint stores, showing various combinations of surface paint colors. But most habitancy don't comprehend that most of those combinations in fact comprise three colors, and not just two. Limiting your surface paint scheme to just two colors also limits your earnings potential.

For a fast sale, think fun colors and go for a third, or even a fourth, surface color. Think "Disneyland Main Street," where every shop is painted in glorious multi-colors. Adding more colors will also add definition to the various architectural details of your home. Use gloss or semi-gloss paint on wood trim.

The psychology of surface Colors

When selecting surface colors, take the sales price of your home into account. safe bet colors, especially muted, complex shades, attract wealthy or highly-educated buyers, whereas buyers with less earnings or less education generally prefer simpler colors. A complex color contains tints of gray or brown, and commonly requires more than one word to describe, such as "sage green," as opposed to "green."

On the other hand, uncomplicated colors are uncomplicated and pure. Generally, houses in the lower price range sell faster and for higher prices when painted in uncomplicated colors like yellow or tan, accented by white, blue, or green trim.

The psychology of Interior Colors

Using colored, rather than bland, white walls will increase your profit potential. Lynette Jennings tested the perception of room size and color, and discovered that a room painted white appeared only appeared larger to a few habitancy when compared to an selfsame room painted in color - and the perceived divergence was only about six inches! Most habitancy also look best when surrounded by color, and feel happier, and since buyers pick houses that make them feel happy, that knowledge can put dollars in your pocket at closing!

Entryways should bring the surface colors into the house. Repeating shades of the surface throughout your home will make the whole home seem to be in harmony. Living and family rooms painted in a slightly lighter shade of the surface color will ensure that you've picked a color your buyers like, because if they didn't like your surface colors, they wouldn't have bothered to look inside. If they loved the surface colors, they'll love the interior, too.

When selecting interior colors, think the use of each room. For instance, kitchen and dining areas that are painted in "food colors," such as coffee browns, celery greens, and scrambled egg yellows, feel natural.

Since, deeper shades of color imply intimacy and serenity, I like to paint expert bedrooms a medium shade of green or blue for warm selling seasons, and rouge red for cooler weather. Other bedrooms can be painted in creamy tones of green, blue, or a pale shell pink. (See the episode on the psychology of Color in my book "Joy to the Home: Secrets of Interior design Psychology" for supplementary information.)

Selling Season

Always think your selling season (the time of year you'll be marketing your home) and atmosphere when selecting colors. Estimation the whole of time you'll need to get your home ready for sale, and then add on extra days for unexpected delays. Use cool colors, such as blues, greens, and grays, to sell while spring and summer, and warm colors, such as yellows, reds, and maroons, when selling in the fall and winter.

Color Intensity

My husband and I commonly use lighter colors when painting the exteriors of our venture dollhouses, because it makes them appear larger. On the other hand, our cabin in the woods looks richer when painted a darker color. When we decided to have it painted, I considered the usual cabin colors of dark brown and barn red, but fell in love with Olympic's gorgeous "Gooseberry" plum color.

When getting ready to paint your house, look at the colors of neighboring houses and choose colors that harmonize, yet stand out from the crowd. Colors that clash badly with other houses will detract from the full, neighborhood.

At the beginning of the article, I told you that homes with yellow exteriors sell the quickest. But which shade of yellow sells best? First, the yellows to avoid: yellows with green undertones look sickly to most buyers, and yellows with orange undertones give buyers an impression of cheapness.

The best-selling yellow surface color is in fact a pale, sunny yellow, especially when complimented with one or more carefully-chosen accent colors. For instance, a semi-gloss white trim will give your home a clean and fresh look, and adding a third color, such as green, can make your home even more spellbinding to prospective buyers.

Colors work on human beings in many ways, and by using the ideas of Color Psychology, you can make your home stand out from the competition, sell more quickly, and at a higher price.

Vitamin C Overdose

Vitamin C Overdose

Using Vitamin C products beyond recommended the limits may cause stomachaches and diarrhea. Even though the body would only use as much as it needs of the vitamin, Vitamin C Overdose can hinder metabolic activities in the body.

The recommended dietary reduction (Rda) for Vitamin C in nonsmoking adults is 75 mg per day for women and 90 mg per day for men. For smokers, the Rdas are 110 mg per day for women and 125 mg per day for men. A dose of 200 milligrams daily is practically enough to maximize plasma and lymphocyte levels.

Higher levels of Vitamin C are needed when under environmental stress such as trauma, fever or infection. Full saturation is reached with daily intakes of 200-500 mg per day (in 2-3 divided doses). This is a water-soluble protein, and whatever in excess is excreted by the body. Vitamin C Overdose can cause diarrhea, gas, or stomach upset. Other side effects could be stomach cramps, nausea, and diarrhea, and an increased risk of developing kidney stones. Large amounts of Vitamin C reduce body levels of copper, an significant nutrient. People with iron overload diseases must avoid Vitamin C Overdose, as it increases iron absorption. Extra healing guidance must be taken by individuals who have kidney stones. If a pregnant mother takes 6,000 mg of Vitamin C, the baby may develop rebound scurvy due to a sudden drop in daily intake. Hemochromatosis patients should not take Vitamin C due to enhanced accumulation of non-heme iron in the presence of this vitamin.

Cooking food will be the topic that will lead your mind to the some techniques to ready the foods before serving them on your dining table. Certainly, the foods will be cooked based on people's taste or will depend on the meal you wanna prepare. For example, you can steam, bake or grill the foods.

Cooking Food by Baking

Grilling or Broiling

dissimilar Kinds Of Necklaces

dissimilar Kinds Of Necklaces

There are so many more necklace designs in the store that it is more and more involved to find a necklace with good capability and adapted to our personality.

There are different types of necklaces ready in the store as cheap as expensive.

Obviously, the most preeminent are necklaces made from different type of metal such as silver, gold, titanium... But there is also others metals called costly and semi-precious. When buying jewelry, there are many factors to be considered. A gold necklace speaks of elegance and is classy, if purchased with other factors in mind.

For women who like classical style, there are still pearls that will never go out of fashion. Solitaire and gemstone pendants on coordinating gold or silver chains are also perpetually popular together with beads and crystals especially for upper middle class. But since few years, there are new trends of necklaces:

Firstly, necklaces and others jewelries which come from Hip Hip style have increased the last decade

Secondly, ethnical and handcrafted necklaces because these are like authentic and unique piece.

Even if there some kinds of necklaces, we can classify the most famous:

o Layered, dual, or three strand neck jewelry

o Chunky, oversized pieces

o Celebrity-inspired necklaces

o Delicate lariats or "Y's"

o New choker styles

o Crystal beads

o Three middle point and drop necklaces

o Natural beads and organic carvings

o Scalloped and collar neck pieces

o Long ropes/chains

o Colored gold

o Enamel and ceramic

o Open and hammered links in chains

o Floating heart pendant necklaces

Concerning the length of the necklaces, it depends on women. Indeed, some of them prefer it length whereas others prefers short but the most popular length is worn loosely colse to the neck and falls slightly below the collar bone. Chokers lie tightly against the neck itself. Chains and pearls come in a great collection of lengths, allowing you to choose the look that you desire.

Regarding men, since last years, the offer is still increasing. Indeed, in 90s they worn gold or silver necklace whereas now they wear high steel, leather or ethnical necklaces. So jewelers have to diversify their offer.

distinct Types of Computer Memory

distinct Types of Computer Memory

Computer memory refers to either of two types of computer storage. volatile memory refers to Ram that needs to be constantly refreshed to be retained. Static memory is permanent warehouse that is retained even after the computer is turned off.

Ram or Random passage Memory is volatile memory that is erased when the power goes off. schedule instructions and data held in Ram can be accessed and saved much more fast than that held in permanent storage. Therefore, files needed to run a schedule and data that is being processed are held in Ram while they are in use. The amount of Ram you need depends at least partly on the operating system( a schedule that directs all the basic functions of a computer such as accepting commands from a keyboard, displaying input on a monitor screen, and controlling disk drives and some other peripheral devices) you opt as well as the type of programs you intend to run.

When you boot up the computer, in other words turn it on, the operating ideas or part of it is loaded into the Ram along with a range of utilities required for normal operation. Therefore, programs and data are loaded into what's left. As tiny as 2Mb(megabytes) total will suffice for most Dos( disk operating system-a proprietary schedule that controls all the basic functions of a computer) programs. In a Windows 3.x environment, 4Mb is the recommended minimum, but 8Mb runs far better.

Beyond operating ideas demands, the amount of Ram required depends on the applications to be run. For example, heavy graphics, real time video, and such need more Ram to keep things from slowing to a crawl or stop. Generally, off-the-rack machines come with 8 to 16Mb, more than enough for a normal purpose computer.

With improved handling of memory, reduced passage times, and lower cost have conspired to make larger amounts of Ram practical. Which in turn has given programmers free rein to add more bells and whistles. This also helps programmers to become more creative in writing programs that require more Ram. There is speculate to believe that this trend will continue.

As for static memory, you don't have to be very old to remember buying a computer without a hard drive, then later installing a 20Mb hard drive, unable to fantasize ever needing more warehouse than that. Today, a 250Mb hard drive is popular; however, most new computers are in the 500 to 1000Mb( 1 gigabyte) range. And you may need all of that Mb and then some.

Computer Memory fact #1: For the faint of heart, when programs or data files are called up from permanent storage, they are not moved, they are merely copied. If the power goes off during processing, programs commonly are safe. The only loss will be data that was changed since the last save.

Computer Memory fact #2: If you decided to get a Mac computer, don't worry. The Mac computer comes loaded with a proprietary operating ideas and the permissible amount of Ram to run it.

6 Key Benefits of Teamwork

6 Key Benefits of Teamwork

There is a saying that many hands make light work. The essence of this statement is that more can be achieved as a public than individually. There are numerous benefits of teamwork. Here are my top 6.

1. Creativity

We all have different skills, knowledge and personal attributes. By utilising all of these different aspects in a team, more ideas can be generated. As more ideas are generated, more creative solutions are generated, important to better results.

2. Satisfaction

Lack of job delight is often one of the key things highlighted in surveys of employees. Individuals working together as a team to achieve a base goal are continually developing. As they interact more power and enthusiasm is created. When this power is utilised, it produces results which for real impacts on motivation and leads to even more success.

3. Skills

Even the best powerful private cannot have all of the skills to do everything. Some citizen excel at coming up with the ideas. Others love the information while there are those that focus on the big picture. There are others who can be counted on when it comes to implementing and effect through of a plan.

The key point is that when a team works together, it has a huge range of skills available that it can utilise to deliver astonishing results.

4. Speed

Imagine that you have a project that needs research, pulling together a proposition, financing it, implementing it and delivering specific benefits. If one person was allocated this task, it could take months and maybe years to make it happen. By splitting up the project, work can move forward in parallel and the extreme goal achieved faster.

5. Sounding board

We all have a range of options open to us. If we are trying to figure out what is best, we might never move forward. In a team situation, other team members can act as a sounding board, allowing us to cut through the options and get on with those most likely to achieve the desired goal.

6. Support

It is astonishing the estimate of camaraderie that is created in teams, especially when the going gets tough. citizen will often go to what seems like extreme lengths when they know that they can rely on the keep and encouragement of the team. Cultural Appreciation Or Appropriation?

Cultural Appreciation Or Appropriation?

My recent purchase of two saris got my restless mind squirming. I began to wonder what people of Indian descent would really think of a white Westerner that would dare to wear a sari. Since I don't have a huge circle of Desi friends to ask, I was forced to resort to Googling "white woman sari" and various similar combinations of keywords so that I could get an idea of what people actually think of such a thing.

Naturally, it is naive to expect one clear answer on the subject. The opinions were fairly equally divided between the "of course you can wear one!" and "don't be ridiculous!" camps, which didn't really help answer my question.

I decided to wear the cotton brocade out to the shoe store as my black Birkenstocks ruined the look and I needed something nicer, and to the grocery store. Just to see what would happen. Sadly, no Indian folk were to be seen during my excursion and I had to settle for the delighted smiles and compliments of fellow whites.

It was actually kind of nerve-wracking, having all eyes on me like that. I had no choice but to hold my head high, square my shoulders, and walk proudly like I hadn't a care in the world. One thing I know about wearing a sari: you can't pull it off if you're walking hunched over like you want to be invisible. So I didn't bother trying.

I did learn two valuable things though: for one, saris are really comfortable on a hot sunny day, and two, that I can drive while wearing one.

After I got home, I did a little more Googling. A common complaint of the "white women shouldn't wear saris" camp was that a Westerner that tries to wear Indian (or any other ethnic clothing) is being rude by appropriating culture that doesn't belong to them, as if clothing can be insulted or demeaned by some sort of fashion-specific manifest destiny.

This didn't sit well with me. I live in a city where whites are not a majority. We have an equal number of blacks, as well as large populations of Hispanic and various Asian nations. My city is one of the more violent ones in the US, having a murder rate in the triple digits nearly every year. I have experienced a great deal of what the popular media likes to refer to as "reverse racism." As if any racism is OK; as if it's excusable because whites in the recent past used to commit racism, so let's just go for an eye for an eye and not evolve and do better than our forefathers did.

I've never oppressed anyone. I have never called anyone a racial slur - though when I have confrontations in my city (as is inevitable from time to time) I'm almost always called some derogatory name such as cracker or worse. My mother's side of the family has always been "trailer trash." We've never had the money to own real homes, let alone slaves. I don't condone racism, I don't condone racial slurs, I believe in equal opportunities for everyone based on merit and not ethnicity. 60,000 years ago we all had a common ancestor, so in my own scientifically-minded opinion, we're all the same. The devil, as usual, is in the details - in this case, the details of skin color, ancestral origin, culture.

So when I read that a Westerner in a sari is committing the sin of cultural appropriation, I got more than a little offended, if I'm being honest. Isn't the intent more important than outside opinion? Sure, I know it's not realistic to expect people to be reasonable about some things. But how is my admiration and love of the sari an insult to anyone? How is something so positive turned by some people into a negative?

All that aside, this sort of statement seems rather hypocritical. As people all over the world turn aside from their traditional wear in favor of the Western uniform of jeans and t-shirts, shouldn't it be an occasion of joy to see that their cultural heritage is treasured by people on the outside of the culture? How exactly is it that a non-Westerner can go between the different styles of dress, but a Westerner cannot? Is this not a double standard, and is this truly acceptable?

As a Westerner of my generation, and from a liberal state to boot, I have a generous portion of Western Guilt ingrained in me. We're taught to be guilty about what we have, and what we are. The imperialistic activities of our ancestors, as well as the rampant greed and corruption of the corporations and the corporate-directed government are a heavy burden on those of us who know better and who regret what has been done in the past, and even in the present, by people that we do not appreciate or admire.

I spent three weeks in Thailand a decade or so ago. Even though haggling was expected and to not haggle was considered rather rude, I felt terribly guilty trying to argue down what I felt was already a ridiculously low price. This need of mine to find that Indians will accept my wearing of the sari is another manifestation of this Western Guilt.

I'm not appropriating the culture, I'm celebrating it! And yet because of the color of my skin, some people consider me to be continuing the abhorrent practices of imperialism simply by choosing to dress in something beautiful from another land.

The power structure of the world is shifting. By my grandchildren's time, I fully expect India and China to be the world's leaders in most of the places America leads now. My embracing of the sari, rather than being seen as a confiscation of something that does not belong to me, should perhaps be seen as my acceptance of future world leadership.

I would like to feel proud to wear a sari, but there will always be that little voice that has been instilled in my heart, that because I'm a white woman from America, I don't have the right to enjoy the clothing and culture from other lands as if they were my own. And I find this to be a sad state of affairs.

Yes, Europeans and Americans have done a lot of damage in the world, and still do. But not all of us support what goes on. Some of us are disgusted by past and present imperialistic acts. Holding all of us responsible for the actions of people long dead, or unsupported by us in the present, is unfair. And bearing resentment against us because of where we were born, or the color of our skin and hair, is just continuing the age-old evil of xenophobia and acts of murder and destruction in its service.

The world gets smaller every day. We all have to live in it. We should all be allowed to celebrate whichever parts of it that we love, no matter if it is something native to our lands or not.

Even if something is not native to one's homeland, it can become native to one's heart.

Football
Football is a very favorite competitive team sport. The object of this game is to score more points than the other team. You can score points discrete ways like carrying the ball over the goal line, running with the ball over the goal line, catching a pass while standing behind the goal line and many more ways. Whoever has the most points wins the game. The ball is an oval shaped ball. The game is played on a grass field that is 360 feet by 160 feet. The field is separated by many lines for game play. Each team typically plays with 11 players each on the field.

Baseball
Another competitive team played sport is baseball. This one is played with a bat and a small hard ball. The team with the most points wins the games. Points are calculated by how many players have crossed home plate. One team bats while the other team pitches and plays outfield. After so many strikes, they switch places. The field is brilliant shape and made up with grass and dirt. There are 9 players on each team.

Softball
Softball is a lot like baseball. It is played with a bat and a softer version of the baseball. Softball uses the same field as baseball does and has the same rules although softball often has further bases called safe bases. Safe bases are so the first baseman and the runner do not collide with one someone else while game play. You will typically see these bases in children's softball and women's softball games. Points are also calculated by how many players have crossed home plate. After so many strikes, the teams switch places from outfield to batting.

Basketball
This is also a competitive team sport. Played with a large round ball and a hoop or a basket. The object of this game is to get the ball into the hoop more times than the other team. Each time the ball goes into the hoop points are scored. The value of points depends on where the player is standing when they shoot the ball into the hoop. The court is a solid flat ground with baskets or hoops on each end. There are distinct size courts depending on who is playing. Regulation court size is 94 feet by 50 feet.

Soccer
Soccer is a competitive team played game. This game is played with a ball that is round and big and two goal nets, one on each end of the field. The object of this game is to score more points than the other team. You score points by kicking the ball into your opponent's goal net. You are not allowed to use any hands in this game with the irregularity of the goalkeeper which is the man who guards the goal net. There are 22 players on the field at one time. The field is discrete in length from 50 yards to 120 yards, depending on who is playing and what regulations they are using.

Drape Your Sensuality In A Gorgeous Sari

Drape Your Sensuality In A Gorgeous Sari

An eternal fashion statement - the sari! If there was ever an award for the most traditional garment in use even today, the sari would win it hands down. It is probably the single piece of clothing that has characterized Indian womanhood for more than 5000 years now. Its beauty lies in its flowing grace, simplicity, elegance and the infinite possibilities it offers. The six yard wonder comes in a countless array of patterns, fabrics, prints and colors.

A blend of style, tradition and grace, the sari consists of three distinct parts:

1. The blouse - A short fitted top for the upper body. In recent times, women concentrate as much on the blouse as they do on their choice of sari. A number of styles have emerged with regard to the blouse varying from racy and sensual to distinct and demure.

2. The petticoat - A waist high underskirt which is tied with a thread called a 'nada'. These days buttoned petticoats are also available. The petticoat helps to give shape to the sari and prevents it from going in between the legs.

3. The sari - A 6 yard and sometimes 9 yard strip of unstitched cloth; it is draped over the petticoat and blouse.

The fundamental draping styles of the sari are strongly influenced by the way in which India's regional sarees are embellished and woven. A number of factors contributed to the sari draping styles from environment to culture. A saree can be draped in numerous innovative styles. It is such a versatile piece of material that it suits every single body type. You can choose to drape a sari in such a manner that you bare your entire midriff or just with a few minor adjustments, cover it all up.

Following are the three main varieties. The remaining are merely ingenious ways of wearing the same thing differently.

Broadly speaking, the northern styles of draping sarees, more commonly know as nivi style of draping, have hand made skirt pleats in the front, from the waist to the ground. The free end is pulled from the back to cover the chest in front.

The southern style of draping sarees is exactly the same as the nivi style. However, instead of pulling the material from the back to the front; the material is pulled from the front to the back. the basic concept of the skirt pleats do not change.

The Kachchha style of draping sarees is not as common as the nivi or southern styles - probably due to the time and effort required to drape one. The Kachchha style makes the sari looks like a pair of trousers since you are literally tucking the sari in between your legs.

The colors of a sari are also very important when it comes to depicting emotions and traditions. Red with shimmer is usually used for a bride; white for the widow, yellow for auspicious and religious associations etc. Traditions have changed and evolved a lot these days. In recent times, colors no longer determine which social occasion you are attending.

Five Top US Manufacturers of Safes

Five Top US Manufacturers of Safes

There are many safe manufacturers in the world today, many of them make top quality safes, others do not. Lets take a look at five of the top US safe manufacturers and why they have earned a good reputation. I have listed them in alphabetical order to avoid any implication of ranking among these companies.

American Security or AMSEC has been around since 1948, and are based out of California. They boast being the world's leading producer of burglar resistant safes. Indeed, security has been foremost in their designs. They were the first manufacturer of round door vaults, which were harder to break into and were an industry standard for decades. They were also a lot more expensive, so AMSEC went on in the 1960's to develop a more cost effective square door that offered maximum protection.

Modern day burglary techniques led AMSEC to develop safes in the 1990's that used composite construction, combining hard plate steel and high strength concrete which offered great protection against attack. WIth their focus on security, AMSEC was the first US company to obtain Underwriters Laboratories highest burglary ratings of TL15 and TL30, and they continue today to be one of the most innovative companies in the market.

Browning is an American company based out of Utah and their primary focus are gun safes. They aim to make a heavy duty, protective safe that will keep your firearms and other valuables secure from theft or fire, but also looks good with a beautiful finish and fine craftsmanship. They also offer innovative interiors to make the most out of the space provided.

Cannon has been manufacturing safes for over 40 years. They believe that you should have ultimate security at the best possible price. A safe is a permanent investment so Cannon offers a lifetime warranty which protects from fire, flood, attempted break-in and manufacturing defects for life. Their motto is "Nothing Protects like a Cannon".

Liberty claims to be America's #1 Safe Manufacturer. They also offer a lifetime, transferrable warranty for all of their safes, and all of their safes are tested and rated by an independent UL laboratory. Liberty is a younger company than most of the others, having been established in Utah in 1988, but they grew quickly and by 1994 were the #1 selling full-size residential safe company in America.

Besides being a very fast growing company, which was helped by acquiring National Security Safe Company in 1997, they have also been innovative in the market. In the 1990's they introduced special HiSecurity Composite Doors which sandwiched layers of fireboard insulation and steel and hardened plate-steel, which increased security and fire protection. They also received a patent for a unique bolt locking mechanism, and introduced adjustable interior storage and shelving systems.

Sentry Safe was started during the Great Depression in the 1930's as the Brush-Punnett Company. They had a simple formula of "quality products and reasonable prices through innovative engineering" that guided the company and allowed it to thrive. They are still a family owned company, led by third generation members of the Brush family, but changed their name to the Sentry Group in 1987. Though based out of New York, they have a global presence, producing more safes and fire resistant chests than any other company in the world.

If you are in the market for a home, gun or business safe, you can find top quality safes from any of these companies. Just do a bit of research to find what suits your needs best.

There are four main types of face lifts that currently exist. Depending on the facial region needing reconstruction and depending on how much scarring the inpatient is willing to accept, they can pick any one of these four main procedures:

·         Lower/Standard Face Lift: This face lift is performed on patients with sagging on the lower part of their faces and on their necks. Either an Smas lift or an S lift may be used. There are also endoscopic options for this lift, as well.

·         Mid Face Lift: This rytidectomy is used to restore droopy upper cheeks and eyelids; endoscopic methods are available, as well as more customary procedures

·         Mini/Weekend face Lift: The mini face lift is an selection for those who caress minor sagging in the cheeks, jaw line, and neck. It is economy than most face lifts, and the saving time is much shorter since it is a less invasive procedure.

·         Thread Face Lift: This face lift involves the use of tiny threads to hold the skin tightly in place, giving it a taught and juvenile look. The thread lift does not need general anesthesia, and the course itself does not take very long. The saving duration is quite short, as well.

Some of the facelifts mentioned above can employ the use of endoscopy (the use of small cameras inserted under the skin straight through small incisions) to help the doctor perform a more accurate doing fully underneath the skin that leaves the inpatient with minimal scarring.
